- Promote equitable access to development, leadership, educational and career progression opportunities, including through the career Development and Competency Framework for Specialist Doctors.
- Capture the views of SAS, LED, IMG leads to inform the relevant METR working groups.
- Identify barriers to engagement and develop practical solutions to strengthen inclusion and recognition of SAS and LED roles.
- Clarify the role of the SAS Tutor, SAS Lead and SAS Advocates in influencing organisational decision making.
- Build sustainable approaches that recognise the contribution of SAS and LED Doctors to workforce transformation, service delivery and future workforce planning
Overview
To equip SAS Tutors with the knowledge, skills, influence and resources needed to support SAS Doctors, champion development opportunities and help shape the future SAS workforce through SAS 6 and SEiD frameworks. By the end of the event, attendees will have explored the SAS 6 and SEiD frameworks, strengthened their advocacy and influencing skills, considered effective mentoring approaches and identified practical ways to support professional portfolio development, talent identification and engagement with the specialist pathway programme
