- To identify and understand assessment along with exploring some of the key principles of the assessment process
- To understand who can carry out WPBA and identify the different assessment tools used
- To observe real interactions between trainees and patients whilst simultaneously checking performance against assessment criteria for:
- Multi-Source Feedback – MSF (e.g. TAB and Mini PAT)
- Mini Clinical Evaluation Exercise – Mini-CEX
- Direct Observation of Procedural Skills – DOPS
- Case-based Discussion – CbD
- Developing the Clinical Teacher
- During these interactions you will be asked to rate the trainee’s performance and consider feedback
- Along with this, you will be encouraged to reflect on your practice as an assessor
